INTRODUCING TARA 3

3 ½ year old (approx.) Female 💥💥Available for ADOPTION💥💥Currently in Southport, Merseyside. Fine with cats.

Tara is a gorgeous, small dog (about 6kgs), of about 3 ½ years old. She is mixed breed, though she looks a bit like a Shih Tzu. She is great with other dogs (of all ages and sizes) and also lives happily with cats.

She loves her creature comforts, and sleeps beautifully through the night. She is a placid, gentle dog, who loves affection from people, particularly butt scratches. She will sit on your lap and paw you for more attention. She does very cute zoomies!

Tara is good with other dogs – she is great at respecting their space, and reading their cues. She is very gentle with other dogs. If she sees strange dogs when out on walks, she doesn’t take any notice of them. She is happy to be handled, and is fine with grooming (her coat will require a reasonable amount of maintenance).

She is very eager to please humans, so training should be quite easy. She isn’t yet fully toilet trained as she is in a kennel environment, but this should get sorted very quickly when she goes to a home of her own. She has not been in a car, but had no issues on the Happy Bus from Romania. She doesn’t show any food aggression, or separation anxiety (she seems happy to have her own time and space).

Tara has recently been introduced to the lead and harness. Walks are new to her, and she does need verbal reassurance from her handler, particularly when walking through gates. She enjoys sniffing on her walks.

If you would like to adopt Tara 3, and understand the commitment you are making when you take on a rescue dog, please complete the form using the link below, or ask one of our volunteers and they will be happy to help.😇😇

The Responsible Dog Rescue provides incredible support to all fosters and new adopters. We are a community, and we help each other. We have behaviour experts, and lots of experienced fosterers, on hand to help you.

We always advise slow and supervised introductions to other pets, and of course, always have safe introductions to children. For adopting dogs, all children in the household must be at least 5 years old. Direct access to a private, secure garden is preferred, though we will consider homes without a garden for Tara.
