INTRODUCING BILLY BOB

3 1/2 year old (approx.) Male 💥💥Available for ADOPTION💥💥Medium sized, about 19kgs). Currently in a foster home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Billy Bob is a gorgeous boy who travelled over from Romania in April. He has been in foster assessment and has passed with flying colours, so now he is ready to find his permanent home.

He is fully housetrained and sleeps well through the night. He is a very happy boy, who loves to be with people, and is extremely affectionate. His foster describes him as having “loads of personality”. He is a young dog, full of energy, so he would like to live with an active family (hiking, running etc would suit him perfectly!).

Billy Bob is fine to live with other dogs (he would love to have a playmate who can match his energy, as he enjoys rough and tumble play), but he does like to be the centre of attention so he would be delighted to be the only dog in the home, especially if people are around most of the time. He can be left for 4 – 5 hours but needs plenty of stimulation. He shows strong prey drive tendencies, so he should not be rehomed with cats (and he wants to chase squirrels). He is living with children (aged 8 and 10) and is fine with them, and likes them to pet him. He doesn’t show any sign of resource guarding.

He is fine on a lead and harness, and he travels well in the car. He is a clever boy, very responsive to treats. He loves to do zoomies around the garden. He has adjusted very well to living in a home. He loves grooming and pampering, and is fine with shower/shampoo.

Billy Bob is anxious if he hears loud noises, or comes across something he has not encountered before. He doesn’t like road side walking, but is improving all the time. He hates the hose pipe! He has not yet learned how to manage his excitement, so he can jump up, or be mouthy, and he will take any opportunity to run out of an open door. So we need an adopter who will work with him on this. He struggles a bit with strangers coming into the home, but his foster is working with him on this.

Note - Billy Bob has no tail (he was probably born that way) but it doesn't affect him at all)

The Responsible Dog Rescue provides incredible support to all fosters and new adopters. We are a community, and we help each other. We have behaviour experts, and lots of experienced fosterers, on hand to help you.

We always advise slow and supervised introductions to other pets, and of course, always have safe introductions to children. For adopting dogs, all children in the household must be at least 5 years old. Direct access to a private, secure garden is required.
